RUNES and their lack of flexibility
Okay, I am all for the taking away of refund points but, honestly, it didnt change much. The overall objective of the killing of refund points was to give your character flexibility and the ability to change classes/skills easily right? Well, it didnt really work for a simple reason: runes cannot be taken off armor easily.
What if we had the power to take off that pesky superior Illusion Magic rune without consequence and replace it with a superior Inspiration rune when switching from Mes/W with Illusionary Weaponry to a Mes/Mo that can use Energy Tap at his disposal. I would be incredibly reluctant to switch if I knew I would be possibly sacrificing a rune everytime. Shouldnt I just be able to move runes where I want? Risking the possibility of losing something like a sup vigor due to switching from a normal monk to a farming one is a huge inconvenience that I would really like to bypass.
The main question is: Why werent we allowed to switch around runes since the beginning? Honestly, it serves no purpose to have runes in such a rigid system. We were supposed to get flexibility when attribute refunds were eliminated, but, unfortunately, we are still stuck with the old, inflexible way.
I hope this hasnt been stated before but it has been bugging me forever. I cant test builds out to their full potential without moving runes around...it really makes everything inconvenient.

Yeah, I guess you just have to buy more sets of armour and runes if you want to do this. I feel your pain, but I doubt this will change. We have different armour sets and different runes which can cost quite a bit. I'd like them to change, I just can't think of an easy way to do so.

Well, I cant tell what would make it so hard to change. Just allow us to move around runes on our armor. Runes should be addons and not permanent fixtures in armor. :/
And, I have thought of doing that but, here is what I'd have to do:
4 Head Pieces all with superior vigor
3 Leg Pieces for Fast Casting (Minor, Major, Superior)
3 Chest Pieces for Illusion Magic (Minor, Major, Superior)
3 Hand Pieces for Domination Magic (Minor, Major, Superior)
3 Foot Pieces for Inspiration Magic (Minor, Major, Superior)
Considering that every piece is 15k, I would have to spend 180k on the non headpieces alone...not including how much I would spend on the runes.
All this to change secondary professions?

Why not put your superiors (not vigor) on your head pieces. I myself usually run 1 superior class and 1 sup/maj vigor. The rest are minors. I adjust my build, I simply wear a different head piece and occasionally have to swap a minor on my armor, which isn't a big deal.

exactly why this doesn't need to be changed
besides runes don't cost that much.
just someone else that wants something for free.

Here is what you run:
4 Headpieces with superior runes matching their types
1 Chest Piece with Superior Vigor
Minor runes is other pieces
For special builds (superior and major or double superior) you create gloves requiring the rune you need.
Most PvE builds are fine with minors and a single superior in the headpiece. If you are PvPing you should be using a pvp character anyway.

You put on runes for reasons. If you want to take it off, sorry, just going to have to live with it. It's almost like making a descision if you want to chop off your arm, or not. Various reasons of course. But it's not like you always have to take it off, if you find another rune, just replace it. I feel that permanently keeping runes on is for the best. Learning from mistakes, try again. If everyone were to be able to replace runes, I feel that PvP might be changed a lot. I switch weapons a lot in mid combat. And wouldn't it be a bit cheap if I could switch runes in mid combat as well?

Ok, how about this then.
Add the following thing.
Precision Salvage kit. You salvage all upgrades from item without damaging it. This can only be used on armour and is reuseable for infinite times and costs 10k. You can swap out your armour at the person you bought it at for equal price.

Uhm, no to both items. 10k is too easy to earn, and being able to do an even swap on armor would allow you to buy the armor with the cheapest components and then swap it for the armor with the most expensive.

The only reason I would like this idea is cause I'm not rich and I'm not going to waste my life trying to sell items to get the money to become rich. (And I'm not buying money off ebay. People who do that need to rethink their lives...) However I'd say it's best just to keep the rune system as is.

I actually like the idea.
I sure it wouldnt happen, as runes are a money sink which this game is in constant need of.
But it would help me out tons.
